Haley Thompson grew up on a farm outside Iowa City, Iowa. She received her B.A in English Literature from the University of Iowa and an M.F.A. in Poetry from the Iowa Writers’ Workshop. Haley was awarded a Teaching-Writing Fellow while at Iowa. Her poems have appeared in Forge Journal. After working in Nashville, Tennessee, for several years, Haley moved back to Iowa City where she teaches high school English. Home is a Place Worth Burying is her first poetry collection.
